Ensuing is the product of years of strangeness, wacky ideas, and a lot of scheming. It is a webcomic about anime/manga, school, and life. It was started in the summer of 2002 by Annaliese Christman and Melissa Russell.
Ensuing means to persue and to chase. I didn't really know that at the time, but Melissa might have. The name comes from Mikagami Tokiya's sword, the Ensui from the wonderful manga and anime Flame of Recca.
Xyia-Xyia is a highly interactive virtual reality game(think The World of .hack//SIGN). Xyia hardware is extremely expensive, but there are no monthly fees. Your playable character's physical form is dependent on the stats(you get X number of points and you get to split them between a range of attributes like attack, defense, magic...) and class(knight, bard, etc.) that you choose. You can work alone or form a team(up to 9 members), and your levels go up as you gain expierience(from battles). There is more to do in Xyia than just battle, though. You can play games, explore, tame familars... The world of Xyia is ever expanding! Xyia comics are posted on Fridays, unless we are between chapters.
My Life-My Life comics are comics based on real events that happen in Annaliese's life. They are her attempt to both rant a bit through art and to be a little funny. ^_^
Annaliese Christman- I'm Annaliese, the writer and artist 90% of the time. I also do all the upkeep on the website and all of the coloring. I am currently attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I am majoring in Graphic Communication. My favorite times of the week are during club meetings for Minna no Manga and Minna no Anime, the best clubs ever. I enjoy reading manga, watching anime, listening to music, drawing, and being lazy. When I graduate, I want to work for Viz Media. One day,I'd like to get a manga series published. Currently, my other art/comic projects are Everyday Demon and currently-named Courier.
Melissa Russell- Melissa is the writer and artist when Annaliese is not. She would probably contribute more if she had a scanner or tablet at her place in Davis, CA, where she goes to school studying Chemistry.
I'd just like to take this time to thank a few people who have been really helpful in the past three years. First, Amanda and Alex, thanks for your support and dealing with my madness for so long. Amanda, thanks for having stuff for us to put up when we didn't. Alex, thanks for all the work with Xyia you've done! David, it has been a real joy watching your art improve and watching you start your own webcomic. Even when I feel like stopping Ensuing on bad days, I just have to look at all the awesome art you've sent in and think of how much effort you put into all your work, and I am inspired to continue. Nur, you'll always there to cheer me up and give me excellent input. I learn a lot from studying your drawings, and I don't think I could have improved much without your help. Thank-you so much, Ensuing would not be around without you guys. Of course, I'd like to also thank everyone who reads Ensuing. Actually having readers now is always a big boost in confidence. ^_^
